Cooper Chapel has been a part of the fabric of the Oakland community for generations and is conveniently located on Fruitvale Avenue. In 1912, the first funeral service was held at the Clarence N. Cooper Mortuary. In 2007, the Diocese of Oakland assumed responsibility for the mortuary. The Oakland Diocese is committed to carrying on the deep-rooted and proud tradition of serving the community with care and compassion
