Cooper Chapel has been a part of the fabric of the Oakland community for generations and is conveniently located on Fruitvale Avenue. In 1912, the first funeral service was held at the Clarence N. Cooper Mortuary. In 2007, the Diocese of Oakland assumed responsibility for the mortuary.
