In 1881 Danny Weller began serving the Jews in New Haven as the first Jewish Funeral Director in the State of Connecticut and perhaps one of the first in the country. Between 1923 to 1978, Weller?? served the community from 425 George Street. Harry?? daughter Sylvia and her son Danny Klein erected a new facility on the same site. At the age of 92, Harry passed away in 1975. Important changes were to take place in the 1980?? and now only a small percentage take place at the funeral chapel itself and have tended to be somewhat smaller in size than in earlier years. We??e been proudly honoring that commitment to the local Jewish community ever since.
